Frequently Asked Questions

What happens at a consultation?

At a cake consultation with Madeline Sugarcraft, we will discuss your wedding cake ideas, flavor and design preferences. We will also provide you with a portfolio of our previous work to help you choose the perfect design for your special day.

Can I show photos of cakes I really like?

Sure! Images can be very helpful in guiding our design session. However, all of our cakes are completely custom, so while we may use your pictures as an inspiration jumping off point, rest assured your cake will be a one of a kind piece of art!

How do I reserve my wedding date?
All cake orders and dates will be confirmed once a non-refundable 50% deposit and contract has been signed.

I have an allergy. Do you offer allergen-free cakes?

Not at this time. Some of our wedding clients choose to have a separate mini cake prepared by a certified allergy-free kitchen.

Do you offer delivery?

Yes, we can deliver and set up your cake. Our delivery fee is based on the size and distance of the delivery.

Can I pick up my cake?

Yes, if it's small enough! Cupcakes and smaller cakes, such as occasion cakes with two tiers or less, can be picked up at an agreed upon time. Should you choose to pick up, make sure your car's air conditioning is in working order, and put it on a flat surface with no wriggle room. Unfortunately, Madeline Sugarcraft has no control over any damage that happens after it leaves our hands.

I don't like fondant. Can my cake be made without it?

At Madeline Sugarcraft, we use fondant with almost all of our wedding designs. Fondant is a highly versatile cake decorating material that can be used to create beautiful and intricate designs. Fondant allows us to create unique and personalized cake designs that will look amazing on your special day. It also provides a smooth and glossy finish that will make your cake stand out from the rest. If you're concerned about it affecting the taste, don't worry. We roll our fondant as thin as possible in order to achieve the desired design.

Can you put fresh flowers on my wedding cake?
Unfortunately, no. At Madeline Sugarcraft, all of our florals are handmade specifically for every cake design. Gumpaste and wafer paper are incredibly versatile and can be made to look just like the real thing. Many flowers are toxic, either by nature or the environment they've been grown in (i.e. pesticides), so to eliminate the guessing game, we do not add fresh flowers to our cake designs.
